If you go by Beth Springer's studio in Venice, CA, you'll see note cards, ribbon cuffs and one-of-a-kind handbags, all made with remnants from her collections. That's because Beth believes in zero waste and she works to that end every day. Her bags are made from reclaimed and vegetable dyed leathers and her spring collection boasts 100% organic hemp/cotton linings. Check out the “Ecovertible” limited edition tie-dyed bag in rose. It's so bohemian chic and uses all reclaimed leather for the trim. The yellow vegetable dyed leather Soft-T Saffron bag captures the spring brights look to perfection. Both come with straps that can be worn across the body to give you a hands free option. http://www.bethspringer.com/

BAG LADY

If our mothers and grandmothers had hoarded their now-vintage garb, we wouldn’t have to spend so much time trolling thrift shops. But we can’t all be so lucky as Beth Springer, a model turned designer for whom a hand-me-down not only bestowed her a great accessory, but inspired a whole line of them: “I loved my grandma's old black patent leather purse!” she gushes. Springer’s namesake handbag line comprises clutches, carryalls, and everything in between in bold hues and with understated details. Not to mention, they’re eco-friendly, from the buttery, recycled leathers to organic cotton and hemp linings, to their vegetable dye makeup. “I focus on ‘clean’ design, focusing on the design and structure I can achieve with the leather itself,” says Springer. “I love the idea of something becoming more beautiful with age and use—the patina of old leather!” LESLIE MINORA

CLOTHES-PIN:

I came across Beth Springer in LA and just loved the clean, unfussy lines and bold colors. Beth makes bags that every woman can carry and pays attention to the environment to boot. Using reclaimed leather, vegetable dyes, and moving to organic hemp/cotton linings are just a few eco steps in the hand made process. Take a look at the entire collection here, there is a small section for the boys as well.

All Purpose - Written by Tipster Gili

For someone who doesn’t go out very much I have a pretty extensive collection of evening bags. I like to wear a clutch when I go to fashion events but most of my nights are spent at dinner and a movie with my husband.

Handbag designer Beth Springer has just what I need for whatever I have planned. The Rustic collection is inspired by the American West, with vegetable-dyed leather, warm colors and stylish simplicity. I love the limited edition Ecovertible tie-dyed rust hobo bag. It’ll look so cute with my new fall wardrobe for daytime.

Then there’s the City Slickers collection which includes a little bit of everything that I love to wear. The Gumdrop bag in cognac or blood (deep red) is my absolute favorite. The Chained patent leather envelope bag is perfect for evenings when I want to stay casual but I have to look chic. I also can’t resist the Snatch faux shagreen clutch in midnight black with tiny flecks of gold.

I’ll try to be good and keep my purchase to a minimum but I can’t promise anything.

Beth Springer http://www.bethspringer.com/ offered "flat, geometric shape day bags." I decided to stop and inquire from the designer, Beth Springer, about the inspiration behind these handbags. Springer responded, "that I always remember my Grandmother with a small handbag that always made the snap sound and years later, the snap sound has since been the inspiration behind these bags. I believe that every woman needs one of these handbags"
